Brexit minister David Davis said that European Union leaders in Brussels were trying to get him sacked, after critical accounts of a meeting between British and EU negotiators were leaked to media.
As per Reuters:
“All these stories are briefing against me trying to get me sacked - which of course is a compliment.
If they don’t want me across the table, there is a reason for that – it is in Britain’s interests, not theirs.”
A cynic might suggest that this is an attempt by Davis to make himself unsackable....but only a cynic would think such things!
