</span></p><p data-sourcepos="5:1-5:308"><span>The word on the cobbled streets is that the EU wants to slap a "repair refused" sticker on any car over 15 years old,</span><span> effectively sending them to the scrapyard in the sky.</span><span> Now,</span><span> before you grab your pitchforks and head to the Parliament,</span><span> let's pop the hood and see what's really under the hood of this policy.</span></p><span>
</span><p data-sourcepos="7:1-7:297"><span>Officially,</span><span> the EU says it's all about sustainability,</span><span> wanting to "rejuvenate the vehicle fleet" and reduce emissions.</span><span> Sounds green,</span><span> right?</span><span> But hold on a sec.</span><span> Scrapping perfectly good (and often beloved) vehicles just to push people into shiny new electrics seems a bit… forced,</span><span> wouldn't you say?</span></p><span>

</span><p data-sourcepos="11:1-11:378"><span>Now,</span><span> the EU claims this only applies to cars with "specific engines" and "extensive damage.</span><span>" But let's be honest,</span><span> who defines "specific" and "extensive"?</span><span> This opens the door for bureaucrats to become car overlords,</span><span> dictating what you can and can't drive based on arbitrary rules.</span><span> Remember that time they tried to regulate the bendiness of bananas?</span><span> Yeah,</span><span> not their finest moment.</span></p><span>
</span><p data-sourcepos="13:1-13:383"><span>This whole policy feels like a backdoor way to push their green agenda,</span><span> regardless of the human cost.</span><span> It's time the EU remembered that not everyone drives a Prius,</span><span> and some of us cherish the roar of a classic engine or the practicality of a well-maintained older car.</span><span> They should focus on making sustainable options more affordable and accessible,</span><span> not strong-arming people into them.</span></p><p data-sourcepos="13:1-13:383"><span>Fortunately the UK is no longer in the EU! <br /></span></p>Ken Frosthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13568488818950912374noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574807014840607894.post-80418804160059705432024-02-02T11:55:00.003+00:002024-02-02T11:55:28.237+00:00The EU Parliament Yesterday - Bonnet de Douche!<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3xesfaqqE96A0-hGdsalq0Fux6rPK19WsbHuKNNJpCxaClQ15keYTwlIPW7lulcomsDgHbMJ82dTerhNsOkADWhHIx5U0CLLUzNOSdTpMeaQ2Q0rgWkkJmZ9RZ1IFiVS9MaJfYJtPy-D7oa4JYudEcqHfwjJFK-qcB4mTpfdrU6X4v6wyO9VvmYysFdw/s680/euhq.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="680" data-original-width="619" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3xesfaqqE96A0-hGdsalq0Fux6rPK19WsbHuKNNJpCxaClQ15keYTwlIPW7lulcomsDgHbMJ82dTerhNsOkADWhHIx5U0CLLUzNOSdTpMeaQ2Q0rgWkkJmZ9RZ1IFiVS9MaJfYJtPy-D7oa4JYudEcqHfwjJFK-qcB4mTpfdrU6X4v6wyO9VvmYysFdw/w364-h400/euhq.jpg" width="364" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Ken Frosthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13568488818950912374noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574807014840607894.post-39565892340132282552024-01-30T11:39:00.002+00:002024-01-30T11:39:28.508+00:00Orban Gives EU The Finger<p> </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Breaking news: Hungary has vowed to defy EU pressure to approve a four-year, €50bn aid package to Ukraine and has condemned the bloc’s proposal to undermine its economy as ‘blackmail’ <a href="https://t.co/3M0uGYWcY1">https://t.co/3M0uGYWcY1</a> <a href="https://t.co/H3L9PWAHPK">pic.twitter.com/H3L9PWAHPK</a></p>— Financial Times (@FT) <a href="https://twitter.com/FT/status/1751937666726154278?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 29, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Ken Frosthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13568488818950912374noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574807014840607894.post-34787597030145672752024-01-29T12:05:00.001+00:002024-01-29T12:05:19.647+00:00EU Plans To Crash Hungary's Economy<p> </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">A file seen by the FT outlines a confidential plan by Brussels to shut off all EU funding to Budapest in order to spark a run on Hungary's currency and drive a collapse in investor confidence <a href="https://t.co/QRQWzBMvdZ">https://t.co/QRQWzBMvdZ</a> <a href="https://t.co/cjiB1EtekC">pic.twitter.com/cjiB1EtekC</a></p>— Financial Times (@FT) <a href="https://twitter.com/FT/status/1751855979665268770?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 29, 2024</a></blockquote><p>Orban is a Putin stooge, but crashing a member state's economy isn't the way to deal with him nor does it show the EU in a favourable light.
