Out of The Union and The Market
Probably the most important line in the manifesto - putting it in writing means chances of Parliament pushing back are basically zero https://t.co/1IibCueXqD— Rupert Harrison (@rbrharrison) May 18, 2017

Brexit Bill Between £5BN and £30BN
A study conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales looked at the “main components” of the likely bill for the UK when it leaves the EU in March 2019.
Taking into account rebates owed to the UK, EU spending commitments and other costs it came up with three “next exit charges”:
- a “low scenario” of £5billion,
- a “central scenario” of £15billion and
- a “high scenario” of £30billion.
Well then, plenty of wiggle room there!

David Davis Plans The Arguments Ahead
David Davis is looking ahead to Brexit negotiations and, having rejected the timetable proposed by Brussels, has drawn up a schedule of when he wants certain "arguments" to take place.
The result being that the first argument will be one about what to argue about!
What with the general election etc, a cynic might wonder if the government is trying to avoid Brexit negotiations.
Surely not!?
That aside, Davis did make one valid point; namely that there would be little progress in Brexit negotiations during the summer months, as it was the “least useful time in dealing with Brussels”.

Is David Davis Now Unsackable?
Brexit minister David Davis said that European Union leaders in Brussels were trying to get him sacked, after critical accounts of a meeting between British and EU negotiators were leaked to media.
As per Reuters:
“All these stories are briefing against me trying to get me sacked - which of course is a compliment.
If they don’t want me across the table, there is a reason for that – it is in Britain’s interests, not theirs.”
A cynic might suggest that this is an attempt by Davis to make himself unsackable....but only a cynic would think such things!

Happy Europe Day!
Despite sniping from certain elderly drunken dinner guests from Brussels, the British are well mannered enough to fly the flags of the nation states who belong to the EU today in Parliament Square (next to the mother of all parliaments).
Happy Europe Day!

The EU Hates Democracy
'Make no mistake, there will be no Brexit negotiation', says Yannis Varoufakis, because the EU "loathes democracy". https://t.co/vixQ7yB1ia
— Mark Sparrow (@Markgsparrow) May 7, 2017
Varoufakis is correct, the EU does hate democracy.
However, there will be a negotiation even if it ends with the UK walking away and stopping its EU payments.

Britain Braced For War

Theresa May Shoots Back
Not unsurprisingly Theresa May shot back at the absurd guff emanating from various "leading characters" in Brussels.
The gloves are now publicly off, and Britain will if pushed into a corner use the nuclear option of stopping membership payments and exiting immediately.

May can't lead UK Brexit talks
Divorce demand now €100bn!
Attempts to get D Davies sacked
Don't believe the hype coming from Brussels, this media avalanche is the EU's style of "negotiation".
It will fail, but it will improve Theresa May's standing in the General Election.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?
By all accounts, if we are to believe the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Theresa May's dinner with Juncker last week was a tad "testy".
It seems that May did not say things that the EU wanted to hear, as such the EU's version of the evening was leaked to the FAZ (as is the norm for the Gnomes of Brussels when people, or countries, do things that the Gnomes don't like).
The fact is, Theresa May knew full well that it would leak and played her hand accordingly. Juncker and the EU may well be puffing themselves up with wounded pride about May's stance (eg wanting to sort out the status and rights of EU citizens by June) but like it or not that is the stance she is going to take. The EU can reject it at its peril.
