Farage Throws His Toys Out of The Pram

Farage is furious that the Tories won't (quite correctly) form an election pact with him, as such he has in the last 24 hours called for Cummings to be sacked and for Boris to resign.

Petulance in the extreme!

Labour's Brexit Appeasement Policy

Yesterday's show of hands (which may or may not have been in favour of a remain policy or not) was nodded through as a victory for "neutrality".

However, not everyone is convinced that the counting of the show of hands was "accurate" (primarily because they weren't counted) and that the position makes any sense.

To the rescue Tom Watson...or maybe not!

University of Leicester Claims Leavers are Thick

The Independent claims that Britain would have likely voted to remain in the European Union were its population educated to a slightly higher level, a new study has found.

Researchers at the University of Leicester say that had just 3 per cent more of the population gone to university, the UK would probably not be leaving the EU.

The researchers looked at reasons why people voted Leave and found that whether someone had been to university or accessed other higher education was the “predominant factor” in how they voted.

I can't but help wonder if the researchers are missing the point that it is not the level of education that determined how people voted, but the personal circumstances of the voters and their perception as to how they are treated and regarded by politicians and the media.

Corbyn's Brexit Plan IF He is PM

1 Negotiate a new deal.

2 Hold a referendum on it (ie in or out of the EU on the basis of his new deal).

3 Remain neutral during the referendum - neither supporting/nor campaigning against his own deal.

Verhofstadt's Empire Building

For reasons best known to Guy Verhofstadt, he seems to think that Europe should build and empire.

Bizarrely the Liberal Democrats think that this is a great idea!

Question For The EU

What on earth is the point of you granting the UK another extension, given that the UK Parliament has wasted the last one you granted?

The Meaningless Extension

Parliament is clamouring for a Brexit extension.

Do they have a plan?

No!

Do they know what they will do with the extension?

No!

Why do they want an extension?

They don't want to make a decision on Brexit, and hope to avoid it altogether!

Does Farage Really Want To Leave The EU?

Call me a cynic, but I sometimes wonder if Nigel Farage really wants to leave the EU?

Take these two points into consideration:

1 He does financially rather well out of being an MEP.

2 He gains in terms of publicity, being in the public eye and "status" by leading the Brexit Party.

Come the general election he will insist that Boris guarantees only a no deal Brexit (no agreement at all with the EU will be acceptable to Farage, even if it is an excellent agreement from the UK's perspective).

Given that Boris won't agree to those terms, Farage will field Brexit candidates; thus splitting the Tory vote, and allowing Corbyn in.

That, from the perspective of a person who claims to want to leave the EU, is illogical; unless that person wanted to maintain the status quo, and continue to be an MEP and run an anti EU party.

Just saying!
