The EU Elections Results - FACTOID ALERT!
Friday, 24 May 2019
Be Careful What You Wish For..
Now that it seems May will finally go (at some date to be announced) there is doubtless much cheering and revelry amongst those who would take her throne.
However, cool your jets ladies and gents!
Whoever takes the crown still faces the same arithmetic that May has faced in the House.
Realistically these are the only two possible outcomes (with or without a general election and/or referendum):
1 No deal Brexit (the EU will not reopen the deal)
2 No Brexit
In the event of no deal Brexit, Labour will be asked why they allowed this to happen, when they could have voted for the WAB.
In the event of no Brexit, the ERG will be asked why they allowed this happen, when they could have voted for the WAB.

Theresa May's Scorched Earth Policy
May has managed to make a terrible situation worse, and it is clear that aside from being delusional she is deliberately trying to make the situation untenable/unfeasible for whoever replaces her as PM.This all feels very very bad for Number 10 tonight - an MP who has been v loyal up til now texts to say 'she has to go. Now'. A senior tory says 'PM just got even with MPs who defied her' - she will leave a 'poisoned legacy' w9ith a 'scorched earth of brexit promises'— Laura Kuenssberg (@bbclaurak) May 21, 2019

Brexit To Go Beyond Summer
The above statement form Number 10 indicates that May intends to continue to push her version of Brexit to Summer and beyond ("..if the UK is to leave the EU before the Summer..").
Given that it won't pass before the Summer recess, if she remains in office (not in power) this disgrace will continue post Summer.

Corbyn Bigger Problem Than Brexit!
Is it just Brexit that has hit the Labour vote, or Corbyn personally too? One Labour MP just now: “Jeremy Corbyn has come up on the doorstep right across the country. Colleagues are saying this privately, but not publicly. He is a bigger problem than Brexit”.— Tom Newton Dunn (@tnewtondunn) May 3, 2019
