The Bigly Post Brexit Trade Deal
NEW Theresa May and Donald Trump have tonight held talks about a US/UK trade deal after Brexit. A 10 Downing Street spokesman said the pair "agreed that Brexit provides a wonderful opportunity to strike a big and ambitious UK-US Free Trade Agreement". #unga2018 #Brexit

Brexit D Day - 17 October
EU officials are considering whether to extend the October summit of EU leaders by a day. I'm hearing it could start on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th. EUCO President Donald Tusk has previously described it as "a moment of truth" for the Brexit process.

No Way Out of Brexit Under Labour
BREAKING: John McDonnell says Labour would only offer people Deal or No Deal in a referendum. NO option to stay in EU. Which completely negates the aims of a referendum as dreamt up by @peoplesvote_hq. Massively significant - no way out of Brexit under Labour. #lab18

IMF forecasts are invariably wrong, and given that this particular "forecast" relates to Brexit (which the IMF doesn't approve of) it should be taken with a pinch of salt!

Shape of the final Brexit deal can be settled later.

Real priority now for both sides is ensuring a smooth transition, avoiding the cliff edge.
EU knows this and it knows the risks of a cliff edge rise if May loses power.
So expect them to act on this knowledge.

Barnier Over-egged His Pudding
Labour MP Stephen Kinnock attributed the remarks - which he said were in French - to Michel Barnier after a meeting in Brussels.
However, EU Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas urged journalists to wait for a transcript to be published. The Chequers plan contains some "positive elements", he added.
Clearly the EU is now backtracking on what Barnier undoubtedly said, and will be attempting to rein him in.
